Sonarus has developed its own patented method for applying artwork to duplicated discs. The final result has to be seen to be believed.

First we digitally print your artwork on our own brand of labeling stock. Then using a specially developed adhesive, the label is adhered permanently to the top of the disk. You get a Photo Offset look at label prices. Completely water prove, DLLs are a perfect solution to your short run duplication products.

For our replication clients:

Silk Screen: A screen is prepared by exposing a film to a screen covered in a layer of light-sensitive emulsion and, after processing, the resulting image is a clear area on the screen which allows the ink through. Most DVDs are screen printed, and very high-quality results are obtained. However, due to the fact that screens are slightly coarser than litho plates, Screen printing is generally not suitable where the reproduction of a picture or photo or a design with tinting and shading is required.

Photo Offset: Used when the reproduction of a picture, photo, or a design with tinting and shading is needed on the face of a DVD. A commonly used printing process in which printing plates are prepared (usually from films); there are as many plates as there are colors to be printed - usually 4,5 or 6). Each plate picks up ink from a roller, and lays down its color image on the printed object.

Anatomy of a Jewel Case

(A) CD Insert: It is the printed cover that slides into the front of a jewel box. This piece can be a one page square (Insert), folded in a number of pages (Panel), or stapled as a booklet with a minimum of 8 pages (Page Panel).
(B) Jewel Box: The plastic clamshell case that holds a CD or DVD.

(A) Tray card: It is the printed piece that fits under the CD tray. It shows through the jewel box and a clear CD tray. The 2 folder spines on either side of the tray card will show when jewel boxes are stacked.

(A) CD Tray: A plastic holder that holds the CD. It fits insides a jewel case. Trays are usually black, we also offer clear ones at no extra cost.
(B) Back side: Printing on the back of the CD insert. It can be printed with color or B/W on a 2-panel insert. Otherwise, it has the same number of colors as the CD cover.
(C) Disc printing: It is the printable area on a CD. The best quality for CD/DVD disc printing is by offset printing.
